Fatima Ispahany was born in 1893 in Rangoon and died in Calcutta in 1951. She was the daughter of Mohd Kazim Ispahany and had one sister, Shamshu, as well as three half-sisters.
In 1909, she married Hasan Ali Khorasanee at York Road, Rangoon. Together they had eight children. The eldest, Mohd Ali, was born in 1911, and the youngest were twins, Ali Asghar and Ali Akbar, born in 1928. Her only daughter, Shireen, was born in 1914.
Fatima was educated in Arabic and Persian. She was able to write Quranic suras in Arabic with beautiful handwriting, and she also wrote books of nowhas, which she prepared for her daughter and granddaughter.

This is Hoseini Begum, mother of Fatima Khorasanee (Ispahany). She was married to Mohamad Kasim Ispahany with whom she had two daughters. Unfortunately we know almost nothing about her except that she was probably born during the 1870s. The above is a painting of her by her husband, Mohd Kasim.
